Dear First name / Friend
I want to share a practice of mine: Mindful receptivity: to intentionally open – and be nourished by – the existing support around us. Imagine if we were in touch with the truth of abundance, if we truly received to a point of feeling saturated, satisfied, a sense of enough-ness.
By no means am I in this place all the time, scarcity creeps in and I catch myself caught up in wanting, future tripping, and striving for the next…{fill in the blank}. Yet it's a worthy endeavor to practice. For when I focus my attention on – and mindfully receive -- earth under my feet, community loving me, or oxygen from the trees fingertips, I am building a sense of contentment. This is much more sustainable, present, and satisfying than the seductive striving that also surrounds us. Practice this with me.
Mindful Receptivity practices:
1. Walk barefoot in the grass
2. When a friend shares their love, truly believe it, inhale it in and be filled with it
2. Lay down outside, feel earth holding you, and look up at the sky with wonder
3. Before a meal express gratitude for the efforts it took to get to your plate (water, soil, farmer, store)
4. Ask a friend for help, and open to it
