This May we are thinking about moms… the women that birth us, the ones that nurture us, and the mothers, or mother figures, that raise us. Those roles are not always the same person, or even biologically related to us and while we are commercially conditioned to idealize Mother's Day, the truth for some people is that Mother's Day can be an isolating and stressful time.
Whatever our individual experiences are, from the closest, most loving mother/child relationships to the ones that have us in therapy, this Saturday we're talking about all the of mother's in our lives and the spectrum of relationships we have with them. Please join us for a Talk-o-Truck storytelling day, more information below.
Our crisis funding program is busy assisting with basic needs like shelter, food, clothing, and fuel. Read about Katie who is successfully battling cancer and needed rental assistance while she is unable to work. To further support our neighbors through stressful, sometimes life altering changes, we need the help of our community. Please consider making a donation to help us continue our funding and expand our ability to help!
This month we welcome a new team member, Sophia Lake! Sophia is our Program Coordinator and we are fortunate that she is bringing her knowledge and vivacious energy to The Starfish Connection! Come meet her at our event this Saturday.
I'll be hosting in the TOT this Saturday while we talk about moms. Please stop by, sit down with me, and tell me all about your mom/s!
