Well—who
doesn't love a new pair of shoes?!

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world”.

Have you ever thought about how much shoes can influence not only how your feet feel, but your entire body??
We are only going to scratch the surface on one of the most overlooked connections in the human body: the relationship between the pelvic floor and our feet. These two are intimately connected by muscles, nerves and fascia, impacting our posture, movement and overall well-being.
The shock absorbers
Our feet provide stability during movement , create the foundation for weight bearing activities and play a significant role in maintaining balance and proper alignment. Providing our feet with appropriate footwear will help maintain their functionality.

The shoe
Shoes that don't provide enough space for our toes to spread out, or support in our rear foot (heel area) may contribute to dysfunction that spreads through the fascia of our feet all the way up our entire body. The correct shoe can be the key to improving our gait or reducing chronic pain.
what to look for
Someone with flat feet or poor foot mechanics might experience altered pelvic alignment or increased tension in their pelvic floor. These individuals want to consider a shoe with a little more arch support, conversely individuals with high arches/rigid feet might need to work more on exercises that support pronation/supination  and a shoe that has less cushion allowing them to feel the ground more.
