UPCOMING RAIL STRIKES

The Associated Society of Locomotive and Engineers and Fireman (ASLEF) has announced another series of strike action between Monday 6th and Saturday 11th May, 2024 whereby members of the train drivers union will take part in one day strike along with a six day overtime ban.

 

On Wednesday 8th May, there will be no West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast, Cross Country or Chiltern services on this date. An overtime ban will be in place between 6 -11 May, therefore services maybe altered and are at risk of short notice disruption and cancellations.

ST MARY'S GUILDHALL tudor tales and ghost stories

 

St Mary’s Guildhall, which dates back to 1342, is inviting groups to embark on a captivating journey through seven centuries of history in one of the most haunted areas of Coventry – the world-renowned Cathedral Quarter. They will be hosting its Guildhall Ghost Stories tour on October 21st-22nd, where visitors can hear tales of paranormal phenomena and ghostly sightings in the stunning, atmospheric building.

This year’s competition will give some of Coventry and Warwickshire’s rising musical talents the opportunity to perform at the city’s flagship festival.

 

Successful artists win the opportunity to perform their own music on the Main Stage over the festival weekend. Heats will be taking place at venues across the city in April and May. The venues are Millsy’s Café Bar, Coventry Caribbean Centre, The Tin Music and Arts, The Arches Music Venue and The Castle Grounds.

 

The heats are divided into six categories with one winner from each category: Indie, Urban, Alternative, Rock-Metal, Singer-Songwriter and Under 18s. Bookings for the contests will be managed by the appropriate venues for each genre and the Under 18s category will be managed by the Coventry Music Hub.
