the orchard is blooming!

The orchard is blooming, today is the start of Floralia (the Roman holiday of celebrating the goddess Flora), I've been reading a lot of early Jorie Graham poems the past two weeks and it all is inspiring me to host some apple blossom time in the orchard this coming Sunday. I know it's late notice, but I have been moving in orchard time (which means lots of spraying yummy organic treatments onto all the trees over and over again the past few weeks) and now that the flowers are here we get a bit of a pause in the spray schedule to celebrate the blossoms. So let's celebrate!

I try to wind my way
between what's here: chalk, lily, milk,
     titanium, snow--

as far as I can say
     these appleblossoms house

five shades of white, and yet
    I know there's more.

appleblossom house: an essence making afternoon in the orchard
sunday, may 5 from 2-5 pm in red hook, ny (upstate, not brooklyn!)

join me for an afternoon of venusian delight, spending time amongst the apple trees in full bloom. you will learn how to craft a flower essence, how to work with story-medicine, as well as dive into lots of juicy apple lore & magic & poetry as we work with the apple blossoms as our teachers. while this class will be heavily focused on apple blossom medicine, you can apply the same framework for making essences to other flowers as you see fit!

this offering is for those who are looking to learn how to collaboratively craft essences, for those who might be needing a bit of heart medicine, for those who want some deep enchantment from the star apple tree.

students are asked to bring a blanket, cushions to sit on and a glass bowl. liz will provide all other supplies, including herbal tea. class will be outside.

ten spots are available.
class is $60, with option to pay more for those who want to make an extra donation towards orchard care supplies <3
Hope to see you there, local folks! & if you know of someone who is nearby and might be interested in this class, please forward this email to them!

I also wanted to let you know that I'll be teaching a plant magic 101 class at the ever-special World's End Farm in Esperance, NY at the end of June. There are only 6 spots, so I encourage snagging a spot if you want to join the fun! World's End is a magical place and you can grab a delicious meal at the coyote cafe afterwards. Highly recommend checking out their farm class line-up this season.

With the riotous opening of the flowers, on this first day of Floralia, a festival of flowering & liberation, sending my festival prayers on the pollen and color and joy and strength of flowers towards the movement of a Free Palestine,
