Muffin when he was first trapped. |
Meet Muffin, a resilient boy with a tale of transformation. When Heather and her daughter, Hailee, discovered him injured in their yard, they knew he needed help. Despite his initial standoffishness, they showed him kindness and reached out to us at Alley Cat Project for assistance. Thanks to their compassion, Muffin found his way to Urban Animal, where treatment for several serious issues began, including severe facial wounds. Trigger warning, for photos of his bloody wound. |
Muffin is now in foster care, where he is recovering and continuing treatment for his wounds, along with advanced dental decay and ongoing eye issues. Despite the rough time he's had, Muffin is quickly blossoming into a chatty, friendly companion, eager for love and attention. |
No doubt you see plenty of dollar signs in Muffin's story. Campaigns like Give Big, and our upcoming Pints N' Purrs event ensure that Muffin, and cats just like him, receive all the medical care they need. We never hesitate to take in cats that require the most care, regardless of challenges, including those that other shelters might not readily accept. |

Colony cat caretaker Morgan recently spoke with KUOW's Megan Farmer, sharing insights into her work and the cats she cares for. Their discussion underscores the significance of community efforts in supporting outdoor cat populations. Read the article here to learn more about their conversation and the valuable work being done. |

We've doubled the number of cats we have helped so far this year, compared to this time last year, but this doesn’t mean there’s been a rise in the free-roaming feral cat population; in fact, that number has been decreasing year after year, due to our TNR efforts. However, because of stricter intake policies at Seattle’s public shelter, we've had to expand our mission to help not only feral cats, but friendly stray cats and kittens in need, as well. Currently, we have 106 foster felines spread across 47 foster homes, with 31 of them ready for adoption. You can find all of our adoptable cats by visiting our Petfinder. |
