Wel-
come
Thanks for being here.

Hey First name / friend,

I can hardly believe we are in June. Where is the time going? Truly?? I'm going to just rip the band-aid off and talk about the BIG news I planned to share in this month's newsletter.

Long story short, I don't have news. Yet. I WILL have news, but planning to add one more thing into the month of May was going to kill me. So, we shifted plans a bit. More details to come.

In other exciting news…Instagram. If you follow me on my personal account, you already know that I shifted that account to really start talking about a passion of mine: money. I've shared bits and pieces about my “why” throughout, but I'll soon share a little more behind the scenes info on there.

I asked my mom a bit ago, “What am I GOOD at?” and she replied, “talking.”
I could've taken that in a number of ways, but I took it in the best way. The “gift of gab” while it can be annoying at times, is still a gift. I am able to talk to a fence post. I'm able to talk to a crowd of 1 million. There is no fear for me to publicly speak, privately speak, speak in my sleep. etc.

And so, I'm embracing that gift and I'm using it to talk about the money things my momma never taught me! Though, they taught us more than most! But, we're diving into investment basics, financial lingo, budgeting 101, and so much more! I honestly feel like I've found my groove and I can tell by the DMs that it's been well received.

So, if you're already friends with me, I appreciate you being there! It's been a fun change and there's more to come!

The Lord is seeing us through a crazy season in crazier ways. You're not going to believe the way this has all been unfolding. Stay tuned!

Whitney On Weekends
I am a big fan of tv, reading, music, all the things. I am constantly asking for recommendations and so I thought it would be fun to share a few of my own each month!
TV: The gentleman
This was a fast paced and a bit heavy but in a “lighter” way. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's blood and death and if you're not into that, don't do it. But…we fell in love with the characters and didn't see the ending coming.
Podcast: Wiser than me
Ok…this podcast has been so fun for me. I've always been a fan of Julia-Louis-Dreyfus and I just love that she speaks to women older than her and grabs their wisdom and what they would've done differently in life. Some HUGE names out there.
MUSIC: Classical
I've been studying to take a huge test this month and so a TON of classical music has bee playing. Look into the studies, classical music makes a difference.

Money Matters
My passion in life is to see others succeed with their finances. Budgeting is some people's scariest word and I get that. But, after the year my family has the only thing that's saved us has been our discipline with finances. We live debt free for a reason and I'm thrilled to help you in any way that I can!
 Welcome to Money Matters.

*Disclaimer: I am not a financial adviser. None of this is financial advise, but just what has worked for us.

We are living proof that the unexpected happens in life. My husband lost his job late last year and while it was, indeed, stressful, we know that it could've been so much worse had we not had Baby Step #3 covered. We know that if we are to find ourselves in a jobless situation again, we can survive a long while having 6 months of monthly expenses saved.

So, take the money you were using for your debt snowball and start putting that into your emergency fund until you have 3-6 months of your monthly expenses saved up. I PROMISE you, it won't feel like an emergency when you're financially prepared to cover it!

The BIGGEST thought I have here is that you put this money in an HYSA (high yield savings account). Regular savings averages making .45% and the HYSA we currently have quite a bit of our funds in is making 4.20%. This is an INSANE difference! Don't miss out on FREE money!
