garnet sewalong starts Monday + a surprise sale! |

Happy May, sewing friends!!! May is a month for celebrating and sharing the clothing we've made for ourselves, and I wanted to pop into your inbox today to let you know about two fun things that are happening this month at MBR… |
|
On Fridays this month I'm posting the handmade things I've worn that week (both on my blog and on Instagram), and will put all of the PDF patterns from those outfits on sale (automatically receive 25% off - no code needed) in my pattern shop for just one week, until the next Friday, when the Surprise Sale will reset with all new patterns (maybe? unless I wear the same things repeatedly, that is definitely a possibility). You can see the first post here: |

Since I first posted last Friday, Garnet, Trillium, Citrine, and Beatrix have been 25% off (just until this Friday!! so be quick!!), and you lucky subscribers get a sneaky peek at two more of the patterns that will be on sale next week in the photo above that includes my outfits from this week… |

It's been really fun to try to strategize which of my patterns to wear so that it will go on sale. Any special requests? Hit reply and let me know and I'll try to wear that pattern before May is over. ;) |

Let’s make a Garnet together!! Each day next week starting Monday, I’ll be posting step-by-step photos of Garnet, so you can sew along with me and make a beautiful gathered top with sleeves and a square yoke! I posted a “Get Ready” post on my blog with all of the things you need to gather for the sewalong, and I even made a little intro video for Garnet for you, see it in the post! |
|
For the first time, I've also made BONUS VIDEO to accompany this sewalong which will be available on my Substack by upgrading to the paid tier (which I'm fondly calling my “Cosmic Sewing Club”) -- it's just $5/month if you want that option!! |

May has been so beautiful here in Michigan!!! It's lovely to finally feel back to something-resembling-normal this week – I had a sinus infection that had me (and Hugo) in a funk for a few weeks, and then Mr Rae came home from a conference in Germany with COVID so Elliot and I caught that, too. I'd love to have a nice big dose of good health so I can enjoy this gorgeous weather and finish sewing all of the things on my spring sewing list. I posted another edition of my Friday Faves on my blog so if you want more of what I'm into and up to, you can read that post (bonus: read about all of the projects that Elli and I have been working on behind the scenes that are in various states of completion). I'm so happy to be launching the Garnet Sewalong -- I really hope you will be able to sew along with me! happy sewing, Rae |
