Life After Helene & Milton
Two days ago marked 6 months since Hurricane Helene swiped our area and caused an estimated 6-7 foot storm surge. We haven't sent out an email since before the our area was impacted by Hurricane Helene, Milton and Debbie.
Unfortunately, my (Alexis) family and I have been displaced since September 24, 2024 when we evacuated for Helene. We received 30 inches of water inside our home. To be honest, I was prepared for the storm, but I wasn't prepared for how long getting back to ‘normal’ has taken.
There is a divide in our community. Those affected personally by the storm and those that were not. But as they say, the show must go on. Climbing out of hurricane recovery Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are still putting the pieces back together. While, most of Lakewood Ranch and inland areas were spared from the feet of storm surge and saw mostly minimal wind damage from Milton.
It has actually taken me longer to ‘get back to work’ than I could have ever imagined. However, our loyal clients and friends keep us going even when we think we can't. I am incredibly thankful for the business we have created over the years. It was our clients that reached out to help and offered support.
The market is much different than 6 months ago. While we haven't shared much we have still been busy. We can help navigate through the process and even identify better ‘deals’ that are surfacing in our area as well as preparing your property for a more complex market.
Again, I can not thank you enough.
