Long time no email, huh? I’ve missed writing. But life has been LIFE-ing around these parts...big country gardens look so charming on IG, but no one talks about it being another full time job of just making sure it all survives mid-June snow, then record heat and those perpetual perennial weeds. At least the days are nice and long here during the summer, and I do mean LONNNG. But rewarding! (I remind myself as I fall into bed barely able to move each night…)
In between weeding and watering though (and the past 2 weeks finally harvesting OMG), I’ve been really mulling over the latest results of the National Association of Home Builders survey, which asks those of us in the biz how...well, how well biz is doing. I’ve been giving my data for these surveys for a few years now, and it’s always fascinating to see the results - but this time it’s REAL interesting.
There is so much pent up demand, between uncertainty with the election, the possibility of lower interest rates (my fingers are crossed right along with you on that one) and just general (((waves hands at the world at large))), that even though we all want to get our renovations started, we’re waiting. And waiting, and waiting.
But this means once the election and the holiday whirlwind is over, good contractors everywhere are going to be busier than ever.
And if the last time this happened taught us anything, it’s that you want to be ready to go with exactly what you want to change. You want your design figured out NOW, so you can get to the head of the line when it comes to getting contractors lined up. Because they don’t want to help you with your design. But, I do!
