FAO Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture Salinity and saline agriculture were central topics during the FAO WASAG (Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture) technical meeting, held on 29 and 30 April in Rome. NWP and NFP, with support of the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the UN in Rome, organised a policy dialogue on the challenge of salinity and implementation of saline agriculture projects. The high-level panel discussion, with deputy ministers and ambassadors of Cabo Verde, Egypt and Senegal, shed light on the dynamics between policy and practice. Two knowledge products on this topic were presented: - The Saline Agri Map: an online platform that presents an overview of saline agriculture projects in the world
- The first edition of Salinity Magazine: an insightful publication with a blend of captivating articles, background information and expert insights.â
