Hey, First name / friends!
This week officially marks THREE YEARS of the #CreateWithCatCoq challenge! 🎉🎉🎉

Can you believe it? The challenge has come a long way in the last few years, and I've loved seeing more and more artists participating each month. 🥰

If you're new to the challenge, here's the scoop: Every week I send out a drawing prompt and feature participants' work on my Instagram, newsletter, and website. All you have to do to participate is share your work on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq and tag me @catcoq in your post so I can find it.

To celebrate, I put together a vault of ALL of the past challenges from 2021 to today. If you're ever wondering what to draw or what to add to your portfolio, you can always bookmark the ever-growing Vault and come back to it when you need a creative boost.

Here are a few of the fun things I've added to the challenge recently:
  • The #CreateWithCatCoq Vault (exclusively for email subscribers like you, First name / my friend!)
  • More frequent email features of participants' work. I do my best to share community features in this newsletter every week!
  • Series and strategic trending prompts like the 2024 trends at the beginning of the year and the summer fruit mini-collection in April.
  • Weekly Instagram story features. (Don't forget to tag me in your post so that I can feature you on Instagram more easily!
  • Featuring the most recent challenge submissions on the Vault page. If you use the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq in your caption, your post will automatically be featured when you post it!

Let's fill year four with even more art and connection!

If you've been looking for art besties who really get you, this challenge is a great place to start. Don't be shy! Scroll the #CreateWithCatCoq hashtag and cheer your fellow artists on.

Pro tip: You can always find the most recent #CreateWithCatCoq submissions featured in the #CreateWithCatCoq Vault!

And if you want to grow your portfolio, I invite you to join us! Just think, if you participate each week, you'd have at least FIFTY new pieces this time next year.

I can't wait to see what the next year brings, and I hope to see your art on Instagram, First name / friend! 🎊

Swimming Pools & Floaties
Yesterday was Memorial Day in the U.S. which means pools are open for the season! In honor of the unofficial start of summer, I wanted to do a challenge featuring swimming pools and cute pool floaties.

You've likely seen designs featuring flamingo pool floats over the past few summers. It's a very niche and seasonal trend, but I think I'd still classify it as a micro-trend that's worth exploring! Try illustrating a fun pool floatie like that, or go for an entire swimming scene.

You can't go wrong with adding some laid back summer vibes in your portfolio!

I drew these swimming ladies on my iPad in Procreate, and now they're featured on stickers and journal dividers as part of my newest collection with The Happy Planner.

I can't wait to see your swimming illustrations! Don't forget to share them on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq and tag me @catcoq so I'm able to find your work and feature it.
