Quiddler
Hello there, First name / friend! This week I thought you'd enjoy a great game for travel. This could also be a good game to play with your kids 8 and up over the summer break to help them with spelling and mental addition. Since it's just a card game, it wouldn't take up much room on an airplane or in a camper.

I've been playing Quiddler for years with my family. It can be played with 1 to 8 players and only takes about 30 minutes. You start with shuffling the cards and dealing 3 to each player. Most cards contain one letter, but there are a few with two letters. Then you'll attempt to create a word (or words in later rounds) with your letters. On your turn you can either choose a card from the top of the discard pile or from the draw pile. If you're able to use all your cards, you will play them down in front of you. Then all subsequent players get one last turn.

Once everyone has played, you'll count up the points of the cards you've played. For any cards you cannot play, you will subtract them. You cannot score below zero in a round, and words must consist of at least 2 cards. Each round there will also be 10 bonus points for the longest word and 10 points for the most words, none for ties.

After the round of 3 cards, you'll play a round of 4 cards. Keep playing like this until you complete the round of 10 cards. That's it! Most points wins.

Instead of shopping links, I'm including previous emails just in case you missed them!

Happy playing!
