After watching this journey into the mysterious and medicinal world of fungi, I was inspired to create this mini mushroom assemblage and related collages. I also have chess pieces, a dormouse, and a rabbit in my collage stash. Should I expand this into an “Alice In Wonderland” theme or just leave it be? If you have thoughts either way, please let me know at Carmen@StrangeFarmGirl.com. |

(If you’re new to my monthly updates, click here for a short background on this exhibit coming up in October.) Last month I said I would complete and submit my copyright applications before my May update. Well, I am embarrassed to say that has not happened. So instead, here is a short video of one of my favorite “Wicked Plants," the Stinging Nettle at the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska. |

Summer is finally here, and I'm thinking about botanical gardens and all their glory. Check out these beauties! Filled with over 100 toxic, intoxicating, and narcotic plants the Alnwick Poison Garden in England would have provided a juicy research venue for my “Wicked Plants” collage series. At this garden, plants are kept behind black iron gates and the only way to see them is on a guided tour. |

For a limited time, at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, you can lose yourself in a fantasy of larger-than-life plants as Alice plunges down the rabbit hole with the Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat, and Singing Flowers. Curiouser and Curiouser! |

Munsinger Clemens Gardens is located along the mighty Mississippi River in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Visitors can stroll on winding paths through various themed gardens, showcasing meticulously manicured landscapes, formal flowerbeds, and water features. This one’s located not too far from me, so perhaps a road trip is in order. |

Speaking of road trips, here's a playlist for those of you planning to wander out into the world this summer. (You will need the Spotify app to listen.) Enjoy your adventures! |
