Hey FBomb Squad, Kimfer here, getting personal today. As many of you already know, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I don't share this very often or publicly, but as someone who has lived with diagnosed depression for over 10 years, managing my mental wellbeing is a daily challenge for me. |
|
This is me in the same week. Publicly speaking at a 2,000 + person conference while struggling privately. |
|
I know what may work for me may not work for you in managing your mental health and wellbeing, but I try to do the following: - Setting Boundaries: I've been much better about setting boundaries between work and personal time and being okay with switching off and recharging (without feeling too much guilt for doing it!)
- Shutting Down: Sometimes I just need to shut down or power down. I love all the advice like, “Go take a walk, meditate, and treat yourself for self-care," but honestly, sometimes it's not even about recharging my batteries, but rather just not using any of it.
- Seeking Support: I have a great support system who I can reach out to and know about my condition. They check in on me, and I reach out when I need it. That includes trusted fellow Fbombers.
However, you exercise your mental health and well-being, know that we, as fierce fucking women, femmes, and gentlethem founders and business owner badass bosses, are here for each other! You don't have to do this hard shit alone. |

We'll be joined by La’Kita Williams, Founder of CoCreate Work and long time FBomber, and her business partner Chloe Andersen. They’ll teach us how to create effective working agreements with ourselves, our teams, and our clients, ensuring that our values are not just words but lived experiences. |
