First name / Hello
Welcome to our first monthly newsletter, Interior Wisdom - I'm so glad you're here!

When I'm not designing, or working, or planning, or organizing . . . (I could go on for paragraphs, and I'm sure you could, too!!), then my next favorite thing to do is to travel. Visiting other places has always been a time for me personally to pause and gain inspiration. And it's such a thrill when I find hotels with inspiring, and sometimes even magical, design.

So, since summer is just starting, I'm sharing a few of my recent favorite spots - I thought they might give you some ideas for your summer plans. And if you visit any of these, be sure to have a camera handy - and send me a picture - I would love to see it!

I recently went on a buying trip to Paris and the design and personality of the
Hotel Cler made my trip so special.

The cobbled streets leading to the hotel were the perfect setting for Hotel Cler and the staff greeted us like we were part of their family. While small, the rooms were so well-appointed and visually lovely. Centrally located, this charm of a hotel made me want to stay even longer!

Birmingham, AL is not only closer to home, but is also on our must-do list in this short season while my youngest is in school at Samford.

We recently found a lovely historic renovation that has made it to our favorites list.
The Elyton Hotel was converted from an old bank into a lovely tres chic hotel that keeps us coming back for more.

Just look at those colors - and that exterior! And who doesn't love cocktails or dining alfresco on a rooftop?

This next trip was a short retreat for me and my husband over a long weekend, in a season celebrating being empty nesters.

The Driskell Hotel in Austin has the such a level of charm and historic value and is also a lovely place to land. Isn't that guest room just gorgeous?

And finally, we also recently had business travel that we took advantage of as we turned business into personal respite.

The Hotel Del Coronado right outside of San Diego is a big draw for me as a lover of all things historic. If only I was born in the era of wide-brimmed hats and playing cricket on the lawn . . . it’s such a romantic notion of years gone by.

And how's this adorable photo from the Hotel Del Coronado to welcome you to summer?

Safe and happy travels and we'll see you next month!
