It’s time for Bernards Township residents to pay close attention to a new development trend that’s under way and poised to wreak havoc on our beautiful town. Bernards has joined the long list of NJ municipalities where rich developers smell a chance to build warehouses and make a whopping profit at the town’s expense. The traffic, noise, and pollution from a warehouse has never helped a town’s quality of life or homeowners’ property values, and never will. The risk is now at our doorstep, however, with the proposed conversion of the office complex at 150 Allen Road to a warehouse.
Elizabeth Graner may no longer chair the BTDC, but she’s a powerhouse nonetheless. Graner, who helmed the committee from 2020 to 2022, is in the thick of a second bid to represent legislative district 21 in the New Jersey General Assembly. But while her foray into state campaigns is relatively recent, she’s no stranger to the political scene.
The first official Board of Education meeting for the 2023/2024 academic year was held on July 24.There were public questions regarding ongoing lawsuits aimed at Bernards Township schools, one concerning allegations of bullying and discrimination at WAMS, and the other filed against a sitting board member for libel and defamation. That board member’s inappropriate social media posts and commentary were also called into question.
