The first issue of the print publication is here! Grain is a newsprint zine showcasing my film photography and written words. Through storytelling, issu 01 explores the meaning of the word grain, and how the random optical texture of the processed photographic film, the alphabet in a bowl of cereal, and the light reflecting off the ocean surface all hold pieces of identity. 4x6 folded zine for reading 12x18 art print on reverse for displaying |

01 I started this month truly excited to share side-b. In a lot of ways, I feel like I have walked towards this project for most of my career. Things are starting to come full circle in my thoughts, ideas, and work. And while I might still have more questions than answers, I am embracing Meagan Osborne's thoughts, and beginning to accept creating just because process pulled me in that way. Not to make a thing. But to be present while making. And lean into the uncertainty of process instead of the destination of process. |

02 While many things are coming full circle for me, I realized it's time to update my website. I think this is a natural reflection of where I am at in my process. The way my website is currently organized no longer feels like it serves the artist I am becoming and the work I am creating. 03 With the small moments of time May offered me, I started to create some new artwork, too. It's strange, I have tended to work in collections, projects—one set container to hold my ideas. But, I was rekindled with a way of making that suddenly has me full of creative energy. And thinking in new ways. You'll find an update about it in June under projects on the digital publication. |
