Can you believe it’s June already? So far, this year has been... challenging. That’s a nice way of putting it. At one point, I considered taking a hiatus from the newsletter. That got me thinking about vacations, out-of-office replies, which led to a random thought that made me laugh out loud: the idea of setting an “out-of-energy” response for those times when you’re just running on empty. |

Out-of-energy: Currently recharging Hey there, Thanks for your message! Just a heads-up, I am currently out-of-energy, running on reserves and recharging. I will be back and ready to engage as soon as I am powered up again. If you need immediate assistance, please contact someone who is fully charged. Appreciate your understanding! |

Because that’s how I feel. Out of gas. Out of inspiration. I have energy for some things but not enough for a lot of other things. But also... I love sending this newsletter every week. It is as much for me as it is for you. It’s my motivation to keep exploring, creating, and sharing because I have this space and this community. You all are my unwitting accountability partners! In July I will be coming up on the 2-year anniversary of sending out these weekly dispatches. I’ve been rethinking what I want to share and how I want to engage. For now, I’ve decided to focus on sharing just ONE thing each week—something I’m making, loving, or thinking about. This could range from a simple recipe, book or artist recommendation to an in-depth look at a single subject or topic. This small shift feels right for right now. I hope you enjoy the first week of June, and I look forward to our continued journey, one week at a time. See you next week! |

It is both an honor and a privilege to be invited to your inbox every Sunday. Time and attention are our most valuable assets and I do not take that lightly. I am grateful for each and every one of you. If you enjoy this newsletter, it would mean the world to me if you share it with others. My hope is to grow the Makeist email list organically through referrals so we have an engaged community of connected people. |
