The past few months have been marked by celebrations, competitions and community gatherings. In April we had the pleasure of hosting Jimmy and Rachel's wedding, a weekend filled with love and laughter. With Rachel originally from the East Coast, the couple brought together 80 friends and family including their three children.
For the first time in its 61-year history, the Australian International Billfish Tournament was held in Tasmania and we were honoured to be their host! Over a 14-day period, the tournament focused on the sustainable catch and release of the Broadbill Swordfish (Xiphias gladius). The event culminated in a grand dinner and presentation ceremony, with over 80 enthusiastic anglers sharing stories of their adventures.
The annual Triabunna District School Cross Country event brought a wave of youthful energy to our site. Approximately 150 students from Prep to Year 12 participated, running courses through our bush tracks and garden areas. Cheers and encouragement greeted them at the finish line, followed by a colourful twist as students emerged through clouds of fluorescent powder to celebrate their achievements.
The Hive Collective, a Tasmanian non-profit dedicated to empowering women recently held their team strategy session at Spring Bay Mill. Participants gathered in the Ridge Quarters, followed by a gourmet BBQ and drinks by the fire. The group enjoyed cosy accommodation and a delicious breakfast, departing with a renewed sense of energy and inspiration.
Despite the cooling temperatures, the warmth of shared experiences and community spirit continues to inspire us.
