The 8 week Patriot Academy Biblical Citizenship class in Washington County, started last night, but it is not too late to register and jump in for week 2 on May 16th.  Find the 1st week recap, registration link & curriculum information below!

May is typically a very busy month for most, between graduations, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day, and the school year coming to a close.  We want to encourage you to always be mindful of ways you can be an example of Godly leadership to those around you.

How can you empower graduates to seek Gods will for their lives? How can we encourage the mothers in our lives to continue being Godly leaders within the home or serving in school volunteer positions, at work or within the church?  And how can we be an extension of Gods love this Memorial Day, to those grieving loved ones they've lost?

Being a leader is not about how people under you serve you and your vision; it’s about how you serve others.  A good leader encourages those around them, affirming their potential and ability to achieve what God has called them to.

The 8 week Patriot Academy Biblical Citizenship class with instructors, Kathryn Van Der Pol & Bennie Yates, both Washington County residents, started last night.  Next Thursday 5/9, is a week off and then the course picks up again on Thursday May 16th - June 27th at the Texas Heritage Event Center in Washington, TX.  It is not too late to register, at the link below, and jump in on these classes.  There is also a link below that will take you to the material covered in last nights class.  Those in attendance went over the Declaration of Independence, heard in depth about the history of the Pilgrim's and the monument they built.
The National Monument to the Forefathers, formerly known as the Pilgrim Monument, commemorates the Mayflower Pilgrims. Dedicated on August 1, 1889, it honors their ideals as later generally embraced by the United States. It is thought to be the world's largest solid granite monument.
Located at 72 Allerton Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the 81-foot-tall monument was commissioned by the Pilgrim Society. The original concept dates to around 1820, with actual planning beginning in 1850. The cornerstone was laid August 2, 1859 by the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts, under the direction of Grand Master John T. Heard. The monument was completed in October 1888, and was dedicated with appropriate ceremonies on August 1, 1889.
Actor, Kirk Cameron produced a movie, Monumental, that dives into the history of this monument and the thought behind what each detail represents.  Last night left everyone excited about what we will be learning in the next 7 weeks.  Come join us!
We know summer can be a busy time for folks with vacation travel and summer activities.  If you are interested in taking the courses, please don't sit out on this round of classes, just because you might have to miss a few.  We have online options available for making up any classes you might need to miss or you can tune in online remotely the night of class.
