June 24'
I love people who harness themselves, an ox to a heavy cart, who pull like water buffalo, with massive patience, who strain in the mud and the muck to move things forward, who do what has to be done, again and again.
 - Excerpt from the poem "To Be of Use" by Marge Piercy.

As we transition from spring to summer, the days lengthen, the air fills our lungs with warmth, and the earth is ripe with possibility. Entering our second year as a nonprofit, I want to pause and reflect on last year's intention: to cultivate the foundation of what this organization, our work, and our impact will look like. Now, a year later, with the guidance of your voices, our expanded and diverse board, and our newest team members, I can proudly say that together we are realizing that intention.

To actualize is no easy feat, and it has taken many hands, hearts, and minds to bring us to this point. Hundreds applied for our open positions, and during the 25 first-round interviews, the energy to fulfill our mission was palpable. This work continues to call folks forward, building a movement on our rangelands. It's inspiring! Behind the scenes, the pursuit is demanding, but just like you, we willingly roll up our sleeves and get ranchin', time and time again.

I want to express immense gratitude to this community for showing up as your whole selves at Women In Ranching. As we continue pushing forward into the next year, may you always be reminded that our commitment is to you, and together our roots are intertwined, bound by the soil.
