FOR THE LOVE OF PUFFINS
Hi First name / everyone! As some of you may have seen I was in the UK last month and visited the beautiful Skomer island. In this newsletter I will be sharing some of my favourite images from this amazing island, as well as a selection of film images that I recently had developed. I hope you enjoy!

SKOMER ISLAND 2014
June 10 years ago I visited Skomer Island for the first time as a photographer. For those who don't know, it is a small island off the coast of Wales where many different sea birds come to nest. A short boat ride from the Pembrokeshire mainland, the sanctuary is a haven for over 40,000 Atlantic Puffins.

It was rather by chance that I would return to the island almost exactly 10 years later, but I though it would be fun to share images from both trips. Interestingly both times I only went with a 70-200mm lens! Here are my best images from 2014.

SKOMER ISLAND 2024
One huge difference between 2014 and 2024 was that this year the puffins already had chicks. This means we were lucky enough to be able to photograph them bringing in eels for their chicks hidden in holes underground. I hope you enjoy my 2024 images and I would love to hear if you think I have improved or not in the last 10 years!

35mm FILM
For the last three years I have been cursing dragging my film camera around with me. It has been to Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, England and of course Botswana. Dodging X-ray machines and being bashed around in the bottom of my camera bag. My trusty Canon QL25 has seen some incredible places and taken some thoroughly average shots!

In newsletter #38 I talked about talking a new approach to my film photography. The idea was to shoot more, and simply enjoy it! I wanted it to be a fun way of doing photography without me classifying it as “work”. I wanted it to be an exciting offshoot for my creativity. Well nearly a year on, that mentality has worked wonders! I have stopped getting upset about bad shots and learned to shoot more. While film is expensive, I still get such a kick out of the images that work. I hope you enjoy this selection of images from Chobe, Savuti, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ndutu and the Ngorongoro crater!

ULTRA MARATHON
Some of you may remember Storm and I were going to the UK to run a marathon last month. We are thrilled to report that we both completed our chosen distances. Storm did amazingly well in her 21.1 km half marathon, and I struggled my way through the 52km ultra marathon. Thank you everyone for the amazing support and heres to the next one!
