Balancing in Fire Season
Hi First name / there

In Ayurveda, each element serves a purpose to keep us happy, healthy and whole. Fire - or, agni - is the element of heat, metabolism and transformation. Fire sustains life by metabolizing food, distributing oxygen, burning energy, building muscle, creating waste, processing emotions, and seeing the Divine.

We honor our internal fire in Ayurveda by gauging the strength of its flames year-round and by knowing when it's burning too hot or too cool and making adjustments so that its flames burn just right. 🔥

As we enter Pitta Season - or the time of year when fire ☀️ is at its height - we gauge the strength of these flames through signs of inflammation. That's right, while fire sustains life, it can also destroy it.

Excess fire, or pitta dosha, can lead to host of inflammatory disorders such as hyper-acidity, reflux, loose stools, diarrhea, skin irritation, acne, joint pain, brain fog, allergies, anger, and irritability. Inflammation is also the underlying cause of almost all chronic disease. 🤒

This week, we share with you an Ayurvedic perspective on inflammation, including specific practices, foods and nutrients you might consider incorporating into your anti-inflammatory lifestyle.
