Hi friends,

My mind is busy with baby shopping lists and deep decluttering tasks that I will start taking action on this week and during the upcoming (all people can talk about) Adha Eid vacation. I am also creating training workshop proposals for exciting corporate collaborations happening at the end of this month.

My body was not cooperative with the heat wave we experienced last week in Amman, especially over the weekend; I felt my energy only picking up in the evenings.

My daughter is reviewing the material for her last exam tomorrow, and I can't believe it will be the last time I drive her to school until mid-October when my expected maternity leave ends.

My son, on the other hand,  is enjoying his summer vacation headstart, making up activities like washing his marbles and reading the latest edition of the comic book Dog Man, his treat for committing to after-school habits, such as putting away his school clothes and doing his UCMAS homework in the last 2 weeks of school.

To parents out there: Congratulations, we did it! I am incredibly grateful for the hilarious and helpful WhatsApp group mothers; they made the past weeks funnier and more bearable.

What about you, dear gentle reader (Bridgerton, anyone?) What are you up to in June? Are any travel plans coming up soon?

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. ✏️ I enjoyed reading about my friend Natasha Tynes's journaling process: Oh, so many journals! More reason to check my journaling course 😎 .
If you are into taking your writing to the next level, Natasha's newsletter, LinkedIn and podcast are very helpful.

2. 🗣️ Communication tip: What did you hear me say?

3. 💬 Quote of the week:

“Remember that short encounters can be immensely rewarding. A friendly word with someone in a queue, with someone’s assistant or with a receptionist can change your whole mood in a moment. Be open to these brief gifts: they take very little effort and time. If someone provides a service you appreciate then take a moment to ask him or her their name (this is a compliment in itself if asked in an appropriate tone) and tell them exactly what they did that you liked. Leave a trail of appreciation wherever you go. Most of us do not get enough appreciation, so, when it is given, it has a disproportionately beneficial effect both on the recipient and on us, the giver.”

—Bill Ford, High Energy Habits
