Dr Blair Cowie is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the School of Animal, Plant & Environmental Sciences at Wits University. As an ecologist, much of his work has largely revolved around the fields of invasion biology and applied entomology. Blair has spent the better part of the past decade working on managing some of the most notorious invasive alien plants in Southern Africa, particularly using biological control. His talk will aim to offer members insight into the status of invasions in South Africa and how we can better manage these invasive plant species using insects. |
