There are so many upsides to getting away, unwinding, exploring a new place, meeting new people and spending time with those you love the most. 
 
The downsides, however, can present themselves as depletion, fatigue, and overwhelm - especially if we aren't managing our energy before, during and after the journey. And, the more depleted we become, the less we are able to get out of the experience. 
 
Rule #1 of balanced travel: it is not about how much we can fit into a trip, it is about how much we can get out of the experience on that trip.
