// the mood & vibes this week
— hi, friends :) writing this to you from one of my favorite haunts, canyon coffee, aka a slice of sea ranch modernism in echo park.
— the headline of this week? yesterday,
i just listed an incredibly sexy, historic craftsman residence in a coveted pocket of los angeles, jefferson park. she's fabulous. delicious wood tones. incredible stained glass. a literal butterfly oasis in the backyard, with lush, mature landscaping. aka, every old house girlie's dream. the last few months have been a slow burn of prepping the house for market, and this week it's reached a fever pitch - been FLYING around town. this weekend is our first open house, sunday 6/23 from 2-4 at 3645 3rd ave. pull up. i will have la croix and tunes and bougie candles.
— this week, i've also been working on collating my experience at salmon creek farm into a written narrative. you know that i stayed at this mystical creative retreat on norcal's coast a few weeks back. and now, i am weaving the threads of all that deliciousness into something magical. aka, a lot of forcing myself to sit down at the computer and type, which every writer knows is the hardest thang.
— seasonally, we are square into summer with the solstice being literally last night, and i'm so happy about it. the air is warm, the nights are long, and my historically pale skin is finally getting some tan underneath the elta md i religiously apply daily. my mom has had some medical scares with sun damage in the past, and i've finally gotten the memo that sunscreen is indeed sexy.
— continuing to train for my marathon which is either in august or september, unsure of which race i'll do. it's such a great way to regulate my body and mind, and feel like i can have a rhythm of energy to my days.
— also, in a few, i am heading up to norcal to spend next week with family, a trip full of appointments (some fun, some not-so-fun) that was scheduled many months ago. i joke with my friends in the real estate space that when you plan a trip out of town, the universe plots to make that very moment when you're out of town incredibly busy. enter: a new listing and multiple events in the design/arch/cool sh*t space, all happening next week. if i didn't absolutely need to leave, i wouldn't, but what the heck i guess that's life. my teammate courtney will be manning the tuesday broker's open at 3rd, so go say hi to her then.
— not to mention, my buyers are ramping up with a lot of activity this summer. everyone's on the hunt for a sexy house once again. not to mention that i'm literally writing this to you after coming from a treehouse i will be co-listing with some team members later this summer. so, needless to say, a lot is shaking.
— i find that in moments of busyness like this, when life hits a fever pitch, it's very important to pare back what you can and not forget to nurture the things that really matter. so, i've been trying to dial in on what my goals are for this summer, the things i really wanna make sure i do in all of this.
— like … trips to the mountains. swimming in rivers. learning to surf and joining one of the multiple (!) queer surf clubs LA has. taking photos on my film camera & continuing to practice my creative craft. sell some dope houses to incredible clients. eat fresh farmer's market produce and breakfast burritos from topanga living cafe and maybe even visit portland.
— wonder what your summer bucket list looks like. maybe respond and tell me.
— talk to you soon, and sending love.
xx,
sam
