My mind palace
needs a makeover.
See what I mean? Like…Eeek!

If you're a Sherlock fan, you know what I mean by
ā€œmind palace.ā€ For those who don't, it's that place
in your brain where you go to work out complex problems.

For me, such problems are of two varieties:
(a) How to keep plants alive; and
(b) how to keep my main characters from death's door too.

Currently, I'm working on the next Housewife Assassin novel.
Thus far, it's been fun: a holiday theme—Thanksgiving!—which means lots of food, folks, fun, friends and family gathering around Donna and Jack's dining room table.

What could possibly go wrong?

Well, since you asked,
just about everything.
But I digress.
All those shenanigans have got to come from somewhere:
the deep, dark recesses of my mind.

But, hey, admit it: you love it when I go to ā€œthe dark place.ā€

Which is why I thought I'd let you see it too.

And knowing that your lollin' in some hammock,
or some rocker, or on some sandy beach gives me some solace that spending several months in this decrepit scary
no-tell motel in my imagination makes it all worthwhile.

We both know that if I were writing a romcom, you'd be looking at a picture of a Craftsman's cottage sporting a wide porch, an emerald lawn with flower beds, and a white picket fence entwined with pink climbing roses.

So, remember: I'm doing this for you.
