Welcome back to Seek + Source Summer Camp! I hope you enjoyed the excitement of receiving and evaluating the pillow cover samples last week. This is starting to get real! Eeeee! (No, that wasn’t a crazy squirrel, that was my super excited squeal!) 

 

Now that we’ve ensured everything meets our standards, it’s time to take the next big step: placing my full order. This is where all our hard work starts to pay off! Yes!

 

Placing an order is a significant milestone in sourcing a product. It’s important to make sure all details are in place to ensure a smooth process.

Let’s make sure we’re all set to place our order! Here’s a checklist to guide you:

- Payment Method: Decide how you will pay your manufacturer. Common methods include wire transfer, PayPal, or credit card. Confirm the preferred payment method with your manufacturer and ensure you’re comfortable with it.

- Shipping Detail: Discuss the shipping terms with your manufacturer. Will they handle shipping, or will you arrange it? Clarify who is responsible for shipping costs and ensure you understand all the details.

- Shipping Window: Confirm the shipping window with your manufacturer. How long will production take? When can you expect your order to ship? Knowing these timelines will help you plan your inventory and sales strategy.

- Order Confirmation: Make sure to get a detailed order confirmation from your manufacturer. This should include all the specifics of your order, such as quantities, colors, and any customizations.

- Communication: Keep the lines of communication open. Regular updates from your manufacturer can help you stay on top of any potential issues.

Placing my first order felt like playing charades for the first time. I was excited but also nervous about getting it all right. I remember double-checking my payment method, discussing shipping terms, and confirming timelines. It was a lot to juggle, but once I had all the pieces in place, I felt confident and ready. And then I waited, lol… shipping takes time!
