Are you ready to simplify your style and transform your wardrobe?
Embracing a wardrobe of less can help you save time, reduce stress, and enhance your personal style. But there are any number of barriers that make this goal hard to achieve, primary among which is what is called a “scarcity mindset.”
Real talk? I have BEEN there. As a broke student living in NYC I was constantly filling my (shared, tiny) closet with more than I needed - or even wanted. And this led to so….much….waste.
Here is how I shifted to embrace an ABUNDANCE mindset and built a capsule wardrobe complete with everything that I need and clothes that I love.
01 Assess Your Situation
You guessed it - begin by decluttering your closet.
Keep only the items that you love and wear regularly.
Donate, recycle, or sell the rest.
02Focus on Versatility
Invest in high-quality, versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down.
Think classic items like a tailored blazer, a little black dress, a great white tee, and well-fitted jeans.
03Limit Your Options
Aim for 30-40 items in a cohesive color palette that compliments your personal style. including clothing, shoes, and accessories.
This limitation encourages creativity, helps you appreciate what you have, and makes it easier to mix-and-match.
Bonus: Plan (and budget) for seasonal updates. Do a quarterly declutter and refresh your capsule each season with a few new pieces. This keeps your wardrobe current without overwhelming it with excess items.
