Hi First name / friend,

I was talking with a friend this week about how sometimes running a business feels like troubleshooting all day long—will it ever end? But wrapped up in the hassle is also an opportunity for learning and growth, and sometimes an unexpected confidence boost!

After four stress-free years with my original Glowforge, I had my first “event” last week… the laser stopped firing mid-job, and I discovered the dreaded red wire short. Typically a $1600 fix requiring a machine replacement, I turned to Facebook groups and learned I could buy a DIY kit and replace it myself.

Now, I barely understand how my laser works (what does CO2 even do?), so I didn't have the highest hopes. But the kit arrived yesterday, and in less than an hour I had rewired my machine and was back up and running—and feeling pretty proud.

Instead of dreading the inevitable death of my laser, the next time an issue comes up I think I'll be able to fix that too because I can solve laser problems. What's the last issue or problem in your business that you solved? Do you realize that makes you a problem solver? It might sound a little cheesy, but it just might change your outlook too.

So, the next time you face a challenge, remember that you’re not just a business owner—you’re a problem solver. Embrace the learning process, lean on your community, and keep pushing forward with confidence. You've got this!

Have you noticed an influx of retro and playful fonts in laser designs this summer? I've rounded up a list of some of the more commonly used ones I've seen, so if you're looking to keep up with the trends you may want to add a few of these to your font library:
