SUMMER STUDIO UPDATE

Greetings from my studio!

Summer has arrived in full swing, and with it comes my busiest season. Just as nature has its rhythms, so too does the life of an artist. This time of year, I find myself deeply immersed in the creative process, much like the industrious bees preparing for the colder months ahead. Just as the busy squirrels store acorns for winter, I too gather inspiration and create fervently, knowing that this burst of activity will sustain me through the quieter times.
In the same way that the vibrant California poppies burst into bloom under the summer sun, I too thrive in this season of abundance and light. My studio is a hive of activity, soaking up the energy and inspiration that the long days and warm evenings bring. It's a time for growth, exploration, and pushing the boundaries of my creative practice.

Summer is also a time of travel and movement, much like the migratory patterns of birds. I take this opportunity to visit new places, meet fellow artists, and draw inspiration from the diverse landscapes and communities I encounter. The sunshine that nourishes plants and trees mirrors the ways these experiences nourish my soul and fuel my artistic practice.

As we embrace the fullness of summer, I'm excited to share that this season is packed with multiple art fairs, a group art show, and a watercolor workshop. These events are a chance to connect with all of you, share my latest work, and immerse myself in new art communities.

I look forward to sharing more about these events and seeing many of you there. My current events and happenings are listed below. There are A LOT. Until you see or hear from me next, enjoy the sunshine and the creative energy that summer brings!

A RECENT COMMISSION
I recently finished a commissioned painting for one of my closest friends. Every fall, my friend Bethany and her family go camping at Hat Creek, near Lassen National Park. Bethany's family has been visiting this special creek for over four generations. The creek is a beloved place, and Bethany's family is truly special. They have kind of adopted me into this tradition since I love them and I love camping. It was an honor to paint this piece for them, and the big reveal was so fun! Even the dog loved it.

I thoroughly enjoy painting commissioned pieces of places in nature that are near and dear to people's hearts. I have two other commissions this month, both featuring special family destination bodies of water. Looking forward to sharing them with you all soon! After the collectors see them first, of course!
