Hi First name / Friend,

Plant growth comes from light, water and nutrients over time. Ever wonder where creative growth comes from?

We see creative growth within our members all of the time. It comes from practice, from curiosity, and it is definitely nurtured within community. How does community nurture growth? It comes from the encouragement and support we receive from others, it comes from sharing ideas and experimenting with those ideas, asking “What if?” and saying "Yes, and!"

We'll be holding one of our favorite styles of GrooveTime this Wednesday, July 10 at 8 pm Eastern where three of our members will each be sharing a collection of their quilts. We'll all have a chance to give feedback to them, to learn from them and each other. Sure hope you can join us live!

If not live, this session will be added to our directory of more than 40 GrooveTime replays—such a wealth of insights and ideas available to our members anytime! Look for “Focus on Evaluations” in the 2023 replays if you want to see this type of session from the past.

Take a peek at all that's going on inside BP this month below.

One way our community nurtures growth is through working on challenges and scores with others. Here are some of the ongoing challenges and prompts inside BravePatch. What are YOU working on?

BravePatch Member Jan Luca shared her “3/4 Time” quilt she made using the Badass Core Values Score.  Jan says, “The core value I identified was diversity within feminism. I learned this when I was seven years old and began taking piano lessons from Jean Phillips. She was different from any other adult women in my life; mother, aunts, grandmothers etc.  Jean was colorful from her tangerine colored nails and red-gold hair, to the clothes she wore and her full throated laughter. I was mesmerized and my life became about fulfillment of weekly lessons to please her. I used seven different fabrics because I was seven when I met Jean. ” Read more from Jan and learn more about the Badass Core Values Score

BravePatch Member Pat Helen Ruth is making a Snake Quilt from the book club's summer challenge. She says, “Woke early yesterday and felt compelled to attack the book club challenge! Using only scraps and trying for a variety of pattern I finished this exercise piece this morning. Nine blocks, about 30” x 30”.” You can see her progress as she shows what she's been up to in the June 2024 GrooveTime Replay. You'll want to stick around for all of the tips, techniques and tricks that were shared in this meeting!

Are you following a challenge? a prompt or score? Whether it's one of the challenges we've talked about in this newsletter, or something else, be sure to post it for all of BravePatch to see. You'll inspire all of us and you can discover encouragement from our supportive and helpful membership.
