Take Action: Senators Should Not Delay Trump’s Cabinet Confirmations
 
Senate Republicans are standing on their promise to hold hearings and votes on President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees. This week, they have scheduled hearings for thirteen of these nominees. Confirmation votes can be held starting immediately after Trump’s inauguration on Monday, January 20th. The Republicans hold a 53-47 seat advantage in the Senate and nominations can be confirmed by a simple majority, so it is important that Republicans remain unified and ideally, Democrats will give the President the deference he deserves in assembling his Cabinet. Your Senators need to hear from YOU to encourage them to support President Trump’s Cabinet nominees as soon as possible.
 
Democrat Senators are attempting to slow down the confirmation process even though America is facing challenges both at home and abroad. The recent terror attack in New Orleans and wildfires in California are just two immediate crises that will require the new Cabinet to be in place without delay. Sadly, Democrats have already complained about not having enough paperwork from some of the nominees which is a political ruse to stall. We must encourage all Senators to put politics aside and do what is best for our country.
 
The American people spoke definitively on November 5th. Not only did they vote in favor of Trump and his policies, but they also said they trusted his ability to choose individuals who would implement his agenda. He has nominated highly qualified individuals for these positions who defend American freedoms, uphold our values, and put the needs of Americans first. It’s time that our Senators confirm these nominees promptly.
