In light of the recent antisemitic activity in our city, I want to reiterate that hate and violence have no place in Nashville. We are a city that thrives on diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect. Any act of hatred or violence against any member of our community is an attack on us all.
As a member of a Jewish household, these acts are extremely unsettling for my family and our broader Jewish community. While I firmly believe First Amendment freedoms are vital to our democracy, threats of violence and acts of hate are unequivocally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
I have been in touch with the Metro Nashville Police Department, and our West Precinct personnel and detectives assigned to the Specialized Investigations Division have been working throughout the day on this matter.
If you see any of the flyers or graffiti, please do not display or post photos of them online. Handle them carefully to avoid damaging any potential fingerprints and immediately report the incident to the Metro Nashville Police Department's non-emergency number: 615-862-8600.
If you evidence (e.g., Ring camera footage) related to this matter, please reach out to West Precinct Investigations at 615-862-7385.
The
Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville will be holding a community-wide event on Sunday afternoon (details to follow
here) and invites the community to stand together as a unified Nashville to make clear our city has no place for antisemitism or hate of any kind.
Together, we will stand strong against hate and ensure that Nashville remains a safe and welcoming home for everyone.
