Imperial Polythene is proud to announce the launch of the Imperial Community Impact Fund; a new initiative designed to support local community groups and charities committed to making a positive difference.

With an annual fund of £10,000, this grant scheme offers up to £1,000 per project to encourage and empower local organisations working in the fields of environment, sustainability, creativity, and addressing local problems. By fostering innovation and collaboration, we aim to enhance the well-being of our community and promote sustainable development.

We invite community groups and charitable organisations to apply for funding to bring their impactful projects to life. Our goal is to support initiatives that drive meaningful change, whether it's through environmental conservation, creative community engagement, or solving pressing local issues.

Meet Team Member: Safwaan Mohammed (Saf), Sales Associate Extraordinaire!

We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest and youngest member of our team, Safwaan, affectionately known as Saf. Joining us as a Sales Associate, Saf brings a fresh perspective and boundless energy to our team.

We met with Saf to learn more about his interests, the Polythene industry, and how he has spent his first six months with us!

What have you learned about the waste management and polythene manufacturing industry since joining Imperial Polythene?

Maths. I did not realise how many calculations would be involved with polythene bags. It’s simple once you get your head around it. I have also learnt how important polythene bags are. To some people it might just be a bit of plastic, however it’s crucial for some businesses to keep running smoothly.

What sustainability practices or initiatives at Imperial Polythene have you been involved in?

Volunteering for the Slough Refugee shelter. I have also been out on the road with my colleague Spencer to visit new and existing customers. This was good to get an understanding of what Spencer does while he is out of the office.

What hobbies do you do in your spare time?

I like to play football and go to the gym, as exercise is so important for a healthy mind and body. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, a pretty simple life really.
I also enjoy trying out new food and eating big fat burgers.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know?

I am a bit of a petrol head, I enjoy loud cars and bikes, whether it's the roar of a revving engine or the thrill of carving up the open road, I'm all about the excitement and freedom that comes with driving.
