Hey friends—

Heatwave be damned. There's so much happening this weekend. Will you be outside or indoors with the AC on full blast? I've curated a few events that are all taking place this Saturday, July 20th—a mix of paid and free events. This weather is no joke so please take precautions if you plan on spending the weekend outdoors! I can assure you the heatwave migraines ain't worth it.

Also, another ask of our lovely community! I've been doing speaking engagements informally this past year but would love to do this more formally going forward to spread the good word of Lilith, founder life as a woman, our brand storytelling, and building a footwear brand in a male-dominated industry. If you know of folks looking for speakers for their conferences or internal corporate events, please let me know or feel free to pass along my website and calendar, so we can coordinate a time to chat!

I'm excited for this, as so many folks including our community are always shocked to learn something new about the brand when they sit through one of our talks! Stay tuned because I plan on doing another community-wide event soon!

Thank you, friends - appreciate the support!

Shoes On. Eyes Open.

WE'RE watching—

Y'all I was so desperate to watch something this past week that I ended up watching that awful movie called A Family Affair with Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman. Yes, I really did sit through the entire thing. It's bad y'all. Please don't waste your time.

But I did tune into My Lady Jane soon after and it's good! Only 3 episodes in but it's keeping me entertained. This latest season of Bridgerton was inconsistent in its pacing and I found it difficult to get through some episodes but this series is 👌🏾. Has anyone read the books?

We're TALKING ABOUT—
QNS to the WRLD  THE GLOBAL RUNDOWN
Students in Dhaka have been protesting against the Bangladesh government’s job quota system. 🇧🇩
Wu Tang fans, this one's for you! I was a big Method Man fan as a kid, so I was excited to dive into this piece!
Btw, VF Corporation had acquired Supreme four years ago for $2.1B. 👀
The Widening Gap Between Influencers and Creators via Business of Fashion     Lots of thoughts on this but I'll save for a future post!
A legend but also feeling old because I used to sneak in underage at the S.O.B. events.
Do y'all remember that wild story of Cornelius Gurlitt? He always comes to mind when I read stories like this one.

We're lISTENING TO—

I shared this episode on my stories the other day and it's really the perfect listen for anyone who has a brand or looking to start one. Lola Catero is the founder of The Majority Group, an investment syndicate, podcast, and advisory group. I personally loved listening to this episode as Lola is usually the one asking the questions! But it covers everything from consumer, brand, and all things fashion.

Lola interviewed me 2 years ago and I can attest to the amount of research she does before interviewing any guests. This same level of intention and research is what she brings to every founder interaction. A must listen!
