Celebrating Excellence: Women on the Rise Awards Gala

On June 27, 100WS Chair, Heather Mount, and Research & Grants Team Members Patricia Burlaud and Kathy Rovito had the honor of attending the Women on the Rise Awards Gala. Alongside fellow 100WS members Taz Tharoo, Mia Poinsette, Zahra Valiani and Christina Hartfield, we celebrated exceptional women's achievements in their respective fields. The event, led by WOTR Executive Director Arlene Blake, was a spectacular celebration of empowerment and excellence. A special highlight was awarding the WOTR Scholarship to Janna Williams, a graduate of WOTR's Career Development program, which was funded by our 2024 grant. We are immensely proud of Arlene and all the inspiring women who were recognized at this event.

Advancing Our Research: The Upcoming White Paper
Our R&G Team has been diligently working on an important initiative—a comprehensive White Paper. This report aims to elevate our initial research and discussions with subject-matter experts by clearly defining the problems and challenges in three critical areas: Access to Healthcare, Mental Health, and Maternity Disparities.

This forthcoming White Paper will serve as a foundational document, providing an in-depth understanding of women's health and well-being status in Central Florida. It is designed to inform readers about the challenges and opportunities in our focus areas, setting the stage for developing targeted strategies and interventions in the subsequent phases of our work. This research will spotlight opportunities for broader community engagement to foster a healthier Central Florida.

Stay tuned for the publication of this pivotal report in the coming weeks!

Warm regards,
Patricia
