There are a lot of people in our community that are ill. I pray to Allah that Allah keeps everyone healthy and safe, and for anyone who is sick, Allah gives them a complete shifaa, a shifaa, after which there is no illness.  In addition to our physical health, we also need to be concerned and look after our spiritual health. The ayah reminds us that one of the best remedies for improving our spiritual health is increasing our recitation and reflection on the Book of Allah. The hadith reminds us that remembering our mortality is beneficial for softening and purifying our hearts. When our hearts are soft, we are more willing to seek forgiveness from Allah and make amends with each other. We ask Allah to keep us all safe and protect us from all types of trials and tribulations, those that are apparent and those that are hidden.

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما) reports that Rasulullahصلى الله عليه و سلم  said:

Indeed, the hearts rust just as iron does. The Sahabah رضي الله عنهم asked: “What is its polish?”

Rasulullah صلى الله عليه و سلم  replied: “Abundant remembrance of death and recitation of the Quran.”

The ICN Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee at the Islamic Center of Naperville proudly announces the continuation of our program to teach the Arabic language to the children of the community. Our goal is to help every student love, understand, speak, read, write, communicate, and enjoy the Arabic language. The Rahmah program will focus on all the students’ senses to learn. All communications in class will be in Arabic. We will focus on Islamic studies as well as part of the curriculum and will continue to have optional Qur'an classes during the course of the program. In addition, this year, the Arabic class program is also open for non-Arabic speaking children ages 6-8 years.

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
