Mark your calendars! The Nostalgia Collection will be here in less than a week! I wanted to share more about the process behind creating these pieces.
This collection is very personal to me. Creating it in such a special time in my life where I get to be home and raise my daughter (while also growing her brother inside of me…surprise!!) has been rewarding and challenging. The inspiration came from watching my daughter grow and experiencing the joy of creating lasting memories with her.
Do you find yourself reminiscing about the little things that evoke a sense of nostalgia—like the smell of campfires, cozy quilts, or a certain color? It's safe to say you probably do! I think reflecting on some of our favorite memories is a pretty normal part of being a human.

Translating the inspiration to artwork
Translating these feelings into my art has been a meditative journey. Each painting begins with a textured base, typically coffee grounds mixed with acrylic paint, to bring a rich, organic feel to the surface. The textured base is an important step because no matter how many layers are built over top, the texture will always peak through, giving the paintings so much depth. I then layer acrylic paint, limestone powder, and painted teabag paper (a signature technique that makes my paintings so unique!), adding more depth and complexity to each piece. I guess you can say this process reflects the layers of memories and experiences that shape our lives. Not to be cheesy or anything 🤭

Exploring natural earth pigments
For this collection, I’ve also started making my own paint using natural pigments. This new step has allowed me to connect more deeply with the process, adding a personal touch that I hope resonates with you! I'm so excited to explore this process in future collections. There's something so special about making paint out of pigments straight from the earth. I'm becoming obsessed!
Explore the beauty of the collection below. Rich, textured paintings inviting an element of nature, reminisce, and character to your home. Framed in beautiful walnut and maple, bringing the earth to you.
Want to help me name the paintings? Share your nostalgic favs below!
I’d love to hear your favorite memories. Do you have any moments, objects, smells, or sounds that make you feel nostalgic and at home? Your memories will inspire the names of the paintings and will make this collection even more meaningful! How special would it be to collect a painting named after your favorite memory?
