Hey friends—

I don't know about y'all but I had a *very* productive week, mainly fueled by matcha. This isn't a sale pitch but I was influenced by a TikToker whose daily matcha-making routine has found its way to my FYP. I know y'all know who I'm talking about! I'm embarrassed to share how many “cold-whisk” videos I've watched now. But anyways, her videos reminded me that I had stored a jar of matcha powder in the fridge some time ago.

Apart from forgetting how good a matcha latte is in the AM, I couldn't believe how much work I got done on my little, caffeine high this week. I think it's a sign that my cup of coffee in the morning is sadly, not cuttin' it anymore.

About to go down a matcha rabbit hole now and order some tins. 🍵 But what's everyone's secret to a productive day, apart from caffeine fuel?

Shoes On. Eyes Open.

WE'RE watching—

This is a bit of a departure from what I usually recommend in terms of shows or films but this auction is a must watch! Don't get me wrong, the final price tag was egregious for this set of bones—an astounding $44.6M.

But I need you to watch Phyllis Kao at work, as she commands and captivates the room for over 15 minutes. “Emily draws blood first.” What. “Who is this woman?” was my first thought when I saw a snippet. Unreal. What an art.

Sotheby's YouTube channel has a Meet the Auctioneer episode that dives into her history and background in the industry. Recommend watching this episode as well as she shares what it takes to be a successfuly auctioneer today (clients bidding virtually) and the superstitions that auctioneers have. 👀

Enjoy!

We're TALKING ABOUT—
QNS to the WRLD  THE GLOBAL RUNDOWN
I thought this was interesting considering China just brokered a peace unity deal with various Palestinian factions including Hamas and Fatah. A new world order is shaping and interestingly, the US is not at the helm. 🇺🇦🇨🇳🇵🇸
Ongoing balloon "warfare" between North & South Korea, this time with North Korea deploying 2,000 large balloons filled with wastepaper, scraps of cloth, cigarette butts and even manure—all in response to South Korean activists scattering political leaflets including K-pop songs via their own balloons. 🎈
I believe we'll see unprecedented turnout driven by the mobilization of these sorority and fraternity groups 🗳️
A fascinating, long read on CrimeCon where 80% of convention attendees are women, perhaps because some are victims and find a sense of empowerment at these true crime events.
The Fulton Street fish market supplies the city with almost half its seafood, and is run by sixth-generation fishmongers. 🐟🦀🐙
To assist in the country's declining birthrate, PM Fumio Kishida pledged to lift the government’s support per child to a level on par with Sweden, where 3.4% of GDP is allocated to family benefits. 👶🏻👶🏼👶🏽👶🏾👶🏿

Rema is always on heavy rotation on my playlists and his new album did not disappoint! At first listen, I got heavy East African vibes, going against the typical Afrobeats sounds, but you guys let me know what you think after you listen!
