I see a lot of men in my practice, whether they are there with their partner or on their own,  It has given me a VIP first row seat to the vulnerability of men that is often hidden from the general public.

 

 

I'm fascinated and thrilled to see men in what we call "the work." They show up here in a ways culture says they shouldn't.   They are contemplative, honest and kind.  I have very, very rarely had men be disrespectful to me in a session.  Doing this work has actually made me more of a fan of men, not less...which was not what I expected when I started.

 

We talk about what a dream sexual experience would feel like emotionally.  We talk about how sex feels emotionally regulating.  We make plans for ways to emotionally regulate outside of sex, so sex doesn't feel like a chore to their partner.  We discuss erectile disfunction, premature ejaculation and how affectionate touch is just as important as erotic touch. We talk about how purity culture affected them too and how their initiation techniques could improve.  

 

I don't have any fancy wrap up to this musing, I just didn't want to gate keep this information - there are cool dudes out there, really working on their own stuff to make things better.  I've witnessed this. 

 

 

 

(PEEEEE ESSSSSSS: Of course there are the turds out there still, but those men typically just show up in my instagram comments, not in my practice.  If they don't pay my bills, I don't pay them no mind. *Unrequested self imposed mic drop.*)
