Hi friends,

As predicted, I am past my due date and started my birth-expectancy leave after getting warm wishes from my coworkers last Thursday.

The highlights of the past week were:
  1. I spent time with my youngest brother, who came for a very short visit from Germany, where he’s finishing his last year of medical residency.
  2. A gathering at my grandparents’ house in Irbid, where I spent my summer vacations in childhood.
  3. I attended a conflict management training course with Talentology. The trainer was Hana Al-Araj, who impressed me greatly with her training skills.
  4. During the training lunch break, I ran into my ex-colleagues who were having another training; it was so fun to see them again after all these years, especially my ex-boss.
  5. I got some beauty appointments done (goodbye long nails, hello super baby-friendly nails).
  6. Chocolate ice cream cake from The Cake Shop. Perfect for summer birthdays. We need to try this one next.

Exhaustion levels are off the charts, and I wake up in pains in my sides due to the baby’s acrobat positions. Nevertheless, I will miss the baby’s moves the most when pregnancy is over.

It could be any day now; I need to eat more dates and walk more stairs to get into labor without medical intervention like every time. But it seems next Saturday is the latest day.

See you on the other side.

P.S. During the training I took, something nice happened, the trainer recommended two books for us, The Power of Now and Atomic Habits, both of which were books that I got deep into and shared about in my content. The podcast links are below.

Snapshot from my week: Baby chocolate preps.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. A great book about conflict resolution that I recommend is Optimal Outcomes by Jennifer Goldman-Wetzler. I read it using my habit of reading for 5 minutes when I got to the office every morning. It taught me that my default conflict management habit is shutting down. 🤔What is your conflict habit? The author created a short, free quiz to identify your primary conflict habit. Hit reply and share your result!

3. 💬 Best Definition of Self-Discipline:

“In his successful book “No Excuses”, Brian Tracy said that he met, by chance, Kop Kopmeyer at a conference in Washington and asked him

“Of all the 1000 success principles that you have discovered, which do you think is the most important?”

Kop Kopmeyer replied without hesitating:

”The most important success principle of all was stated by Elbert Hubbard, one of the most prolific writers in American history, at the beginning of the 20th century. He said, “Self-discipline is the ability to do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.””

( Readwise helped me find this quote. It is my favorite app to recall favorite passages in books and articles I read and now they have a new product, Reader, which will make you forget about all the other read-it-later apps)
