It's been awhile and I apologize for the lack of newsletters over the past few months. I have missed being here. Over the past year, a group of ladies from my church has been knee deep in researching and compiling our church's 63 years of history into a book. It has been a labor of love and a true gift for me to be a small part of it. We learned so much about the hard work that went into not just the building of the actual sanctuary and fellowship hall, but in the building of God's family--His Church.
I have a couple of new writing projects I am very excited to share with you all! The Good Ole Days Story Project and hopefully toward the end of the year, early spring 2025--a long-awaited dream--the publication of a magazine (to be named later) featuring encouraging and inspiring stories of people in the Wilkes area and other parts of North Carolina.
Starting in September, I will be at the Wilkes Senior Resources Center (WSRC) in North Wilkesboro once a week to record interviews and stories for The Good Ole Days. Our hopes are for the book to be complete in time for the Christmas holidays. If you or someone you know would like to share your personal story about The Good Ole Days, please email me at tlmillerwriter@gmail.com or you can pick up a flyer at the WSRC beginning A portion of the sales from the book will benefit the services offered at the WSRC.
