birth prep
to prepare for a new arrival
July was baby month - so let’s talk about birth prep!
Birth prep is a buzzy term right now. Like you know you should do it, but what does that mean? A class series? A lecture? A book? In an ideal world, it’s a combination of education, physical activities, mental preparation, and body work.
Let’s talk about how Uprise Pelvic Health can help!
At your first prenatal visit, we’ll discuss how you’ve been feeling, your fertility journey, previous birth histories, and talk about your current symptoms. We’ll do a head to toe physical exam looking at movement, range of motion, posture, and soft tissue restrictions inside and outside of the pelvis. The information gained here will guide our sessions and recommendations for your plan of care.
For some, it may be a home exercise program and we’ll see you in a month. For others, it may be a combination of hands on treatment and exercises and we need to meet weekly for a while until symptoms have calmed down. Our goal is to keep you moving comfortably throughout pregnancy, doing the activities you love to do. We offer manual therapy techniques and tailored exercise programs to do just that.
We also love to educate you about the mechanics of labor and delivery, how to protect your pelvic floor during pregnancy and during delivery, and what to expect for postpartum healing (no matter how you deliver). Time and time again we hear women say “why did no one tell me before!?” Here’s your chance to remedy that!
We love seeing first time moms, but know that the majority of moms we see are veterans! They are looking for a better, more empowered experience. The ideal time to set up your first prenatal visit is between 16 and 20 weeks. Reach out to schedule today!
