Summer's End
Slip slipping away!

This month, above all others,  seems to sneak up on me.

It's still Summer, yet somehow I feel likeAugust is a blinking yellow light, warning that it will soon come to and end. It's a balance between wanting to relax and fit everything in. So, here's our opportunity to decide how we want this month to go.

Really slow down and savor it.

I've still got a couple of short trips this month…first to Newport and then to Nantucket, which I'm looking forward to. Once those are done, it will be Labor Day Weekend and the return to routine. Oh my!

In between those jaunts, you can find me under an umbrella…either at the beach club or in my backyard. With a big iced tea and a stack of books.

Ready. Set. Relax!

Summer Blooms

The beauty of August is that it opens in full bloom. Everything has been going gangbusters and is full and lush. All the hostas and hydrangeas, lady's mantle and roses have filled in. My ground cover, mazus, has spread beautifully and has created a living chartreuse carpet.

Yes, the colors are starting to fade, but that is just a reminder to be outside and enjoy the beauty in the garden!
