THE TANNEHILL HOMESTEAD

Hi First name / there friend!

For the past week, I've been slowly nesting and decluttering my home. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant, and want things in order for when Baby Girl arrives.

I'm specifically seeking out things that I don't feel will fit into this new chapter of my life, which led me to wanting to share those ideas with you so you can declutter with me!

Here are a few things I'm decluttering and you should, too!

1 // Clothes
More specifically, I'm decluttering my swimsuits. While they still fit, I don't want to be a mom that has to worry about adjusting her swimsuit when playing with my child. I have two sets and plan to replace them with one swimsuit next summer when my body has become its new normal.

2 // Books
I don't have many physical books, but I did gather a few pregnancy books that I plan to pass on to someone else. Since I am about to leave this season, I don't need to hold onto these books, as they won't serve me past pregnancy.

3 // Plants
I have a few high maintenance plants that I'm planning to rehome, because I'm not a plant mama that can watch a plant wither away and die. I'd rather them move onto someone who is going to enjoy them.

4 // Closets & Storage Cabinets
While I don't think there will be much to declutter in these areas, there are a few changes I need to make to help them function better. I want to move some things around, lower some shelves for easier access, and evaluate what I have. I've got a sneaky suspicion that I've got some just-in-case items hiding in a couple of cabinets.

5 // Pantry
There are shelves I cannot reach without help that I know have expired foods sitting on them. Luckily, my husband plans to help me sort through this to ensure we declutter these items and are able to fill in any gaps before Baby Girl arrives. I don't plan to overstock my pantry, but if I can grab some canned goods and other pantry staples that we need, I think it will make postpartum a bit easier.

I don't think I'll end up with more than a trunk's worth of items to declutter, but that's still quite a bit of things leaving my home.

I have a friend that is hosting a garage sale fundraiser so I'll donate my items to help her.

All I need is the energy to get things done, which is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Fatigue has hit me hard the past few weeks, hence me not sending out newsletters regularly. Hoping that changes before Baby Girl arrives!

If you're decluttering with me, please hit that ‘reply’ button and share your progress! It is a huge motivator for me to keep going, even if I'm super slow. haha!
