Hi everyone,
Summer flew bye! We hope everyone is staying cool with these triple digits. As we approach fall, we will be closing on Mondays starting August 5th. We will still be open Tuesday-Friday 9:30-5:30 and Saturday 9:30-5.
With the high temperatures please remember to water, water, water. Early morning or later in the evening is ideal that way the plants can take in the water without stressing from the heat. Now is a good time to double check all your sprinklers to make sure you are getting the ideal coverage needed.
We are still seeing several pictures of blossom end rot on tomatoes and peppers. That is where there is a black spot on the blossom end (bottom) of the tomato. It can also effect peppers, eggplants, squash, and zucchini plants. Blossom end rot is caused by the lack of calcium to the plants. You can use ferti-lome yield booster to help prevent and stop blossom end rot in your plants.
Even though we are so hot right now, our mum crop is looking amazing. Check the pictures out below. We are getting ready for the rest of our fall crop as we have started our ornamental cabbage and kale. Pansies, violas, dianthus, snapdragons, and dusty miller are set to arrive in a couple of weeks and will be ready for you to purchase at the end of September.
Thinking about doing a fall garden? We will have fall starts ready for you late August to early September.
