- Omaha's Original Greek Festival is Aug. 15-17 at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church featuring Greek street food, live music, dancing and more. Hours are 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. $5 per person.
- MCC Institute for the Culinary Arts’ Bakery and Pastry Expo is Aug. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fort Omaha Campus Building 022, room 201. Admission is $10. Attendees visit stations created by the ICA Baking and Pastry students, sample and give written feedback.
- Five-Course Chef-Inspired Meal with jazz music is Aug. 16 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at The Players Club, 12101 Deer Creek Drive. Cost is $65.
- Charcuterie Classes at Lauritzen Gardens, 100 Bancroft St., are Aug. 16, and Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Led by Sandy Vacanti of Artisan Boards of Omaha, you'll learn how to create and design a board to take home (one board per two-person registration). A custom board will be provided to sample from during the event. Cost is $100 for non-members, $85 for garden members (two people per registration).

- Pint 9 Brewery Backyard Beer Night is Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood, 1010 Capitol Ave. The five-course meal features Heirloom Tomato, Watermelon and Feta Salad, Potato Croquette, Gambas al Ajillo, Pork Schnitzel, and Funnel Cake Cupcake with course paired with a beer. - The 18th annual Brew Haha, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Omaha, is Sept. 6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at BMO Parking Lot, 13505 California St. It features 70+ restaurants and breweries, and unlimited samples of beer, cider and seltzers. It is a 21+ event.
- Omaha Restaurant Week is Sept. 13-22, where participating restaurants offer enjoy three-course dinners priced at $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person. A portion of Restaurant Week proceeds benefits Food Bank for the Heartland.
- Mix and Sip: A Hands-On Mixology Experience With KnockOut Mixology is Sept. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Time on My Hands, 7020 Maple St. Expert mixologist Melanie Henderson will guide the class as each person creates two delicious and unique cocktails. - The 10th Annual Caffeine Crawl in Omaha is Sept. 14, featuring five route options. Each route includes five stops. Cost is $39.50 plus the option of a bonus stop.

- Taco Tuesdays start today at Saddle Creek Breakfast Club in Countryside Village. The restaurant will be open on Tuesdays nights with dips, margs (including a rotating special every week) and tacos.
- Every Tuesday in August, Runza will offer 75-cent cheeseburgers in celebration of their 75th anniversary.
- Ruhlman's Steakhouse opened July 31 at 603 US Highway 6, Ashland, Neb.
- Blue Hawaii opened in July at 1303 S. 72nd St., Suite 108. The restaurant serves sushi, poke and grilled items.
- Omaha Teriyaki opened this past week at 723 N. 114th St. Hours are currently Wednesday to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wonton Jon’s recently announced they would discontinue their food truck in order to give more attention to their other business ventures: EZFoodTrucks.com, Omaha Cheesesteak Co., and The Sorcerer’s Cone.
- Helados el Primo is a new Mexican ice-cream food truck in town. Find it at Millard Car Wash, 5226 S. 132nd St.
- Sauced by Alfaro announced they finished filming for a show on the Food Network. Details are still mum, but the show will come out in 2025.
- Coneflower Creamery announced its third location will open in 2025 in Old Towne Elkhorn.
- There’s a new food app with participating locations in Omaha: Too Good To Go.
- Tenant is planning on opening at 6201 Maple St. in early August.
- The Joslyn recently announced that Omaha-based Clean Slate Food Co. has been chosen as its new partner in its on-site dining location, The Durham Cafe. The cafe will have a renewed dining area in a centrally located, light-filled atrium; seasonal outdoor seating; expanded hours; and fresh, nutritious food and elevated service. The menu will accommodate all dietary needs, including kid-friendly choices. The Joslyn reopens Sept. 10.
- CTRL Coffee & Cereal Bar announced their location on 10th Street will close on Aug. 18. They plan on opening a location in Lincoln sometime in the near future.
